Research shows that if a child does not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior before they turn twelve the chances of that occurring decrease as time goes by. At SonFest we strive to help children know Jesus, to make Him an important part of their life and to live their lives for the Lord.

It is our desire that children not just learn memory verses and stories. Our mission is to:

We do this through a combination of options. We have Children’s Church complete with worship every Sunday during service, a Bible study/Community Group just for kids, service projects and quarterly boot camps.

Children’s Church

We have two Children’s Church age groups 3-6 and 7-11. Each has dedicated teachers and helpers so the kids know their teachers and their teachers know them. The relationship is a basis for helping them know and understand the love of God. We teach and encourage kids to show the love of God to others through words and actions, thus helping others come to Christ.

Each semester we have a different focus for each age group. Each lesson has a key verse and a point. The points are based on the key verse and at the end of class each child should be able to state the point and recognize the key verse. In addition, each lesson has a take home sheet with the point, key verse and reinforcements for the lesson for the family to do together.

Community Groups

Community Groups are a foundational part of SonFest Chapel. Basically they are Bible Study Groups held in peoples homes. Right now there is one Community Group for the kids held Sunday evenings at the Middleton’s. The purpose is to help the kids build a relationship with God and with each other. Past groups include the Great Commission, Josh McDowell’s Beyond Belief True or False, The Fruit of the Spirit, The Armor of God, and The Ten Commandments.

The Kids Community Group is Sunday evenings from 6:30-8PM at the SonFest Facility

Boot Camps

Boot camps are one day events where we focus on one topic. The first boot camp was held in November of 2004 and was on the BIBLE. Why the Bible is important, how to use it, getting around in it, other Bible tools (concordances, dictionaries, maps, etc.) and concluded with a plan to read the Bible regularly. Boot camps take place several times during the year, check the calendar or contact Cheryl Middleton at cheryl@sonfestchapel.org for dates or more information.

Child Safety

We take the safety and protection of children seriously at SonFest. All children’s workers and volunteers have signed our child protection policy. In addition we do background checks on these same people.

The Child Protection Policy covers acceptable behavior and contact. It also requires children not be alone with any adult and that two non-related adults be present with kids in all classes and at all events. All of these points are verified on a weekly basis.

A copy of our protection policy is available by contacting Cheryl Middleton at cheryl@sonfestchapel.org or 561.350-4792.
